A-65 was proposed in 1971 as a regional link from Villeroy to Thetford Mines
This autoroute is what Thetfordians have been asking the government for a long time. It would not only attract, economicaly
and touristicaly, people but would accurate the Montréal-Thetford and Montreal-Bangor(ME) transportation axis, actually served
by only one autoroute (A-20) and three national highways (QC-165, QC-112, QC-173/US-201).
